WIERD Presents Epee du Bois Live and Tamaryn Record VRelease!
Wednesday, July 16th, 2008
Hello o young children of the Cold WIERD World...well, amidst a lovely afternoon surfing around to follow ITs two fave dramas unfolding on the glowing black box.: the first being the brilliant young African-American woman suing NASCAR $225 Million for Racism(so complicated...how can she lose?...VR), and the second the ongoing plastic surgery adventures of 'Tree Man' in Indonesia who has succeeded in becoming the first individual to literally embody the inseparability of nature and culture...a bit more persuasive an 'argument' than Marx I'd say...not to mention the VR notion of an person 'being'(as opposed to 'having') an argument at all(the irony though here being he both 'is' AND 'has' the argument)..., the WIERD came across the absolutely radical announcement by Best Buy that they will soon begin carrying vinyl records, claiming 'we feel young people are becoming dissillusioned with internet media outlets and more and more are 'once again'(?) interested in owning musical 'objects'...VR! http://www.tinymixtapes.com/Best-Buy-to-Try-Vinyl-Sales-Again - so in other words there's a tiny glimmer of hope for us all in the lifelong WIERD battle against Abstraction as the lost golden ghost of the 'material' world may be slowly returning before our sad little eyes...So Lets Party!!! YES!!!
And an excellent party this week's WIERD is destined to be(he says in his best hackneyed attempt at an Aristo accent)as we welcome back WIERD's long time resident Master of the cloudy cold gloom Epee du Bois for a creepy dripping wet Korg MS-20 live performance at Midnite! And yes for all of you who emailed us to ask if Cheyney will be playing his WIERD Compilation V2 frozen dancefloor VRasterpiece(including the charming young lady who said she'd drive from Indiana to hear the cheery track live) the rumours are yes Monsieur Epee will indeed be performing 'Misery' live for the first time this week so cheer the fuck up everyone! As if that wasn't enough WIERD is proud to this week also play host to the long awaited record release party for Tamaryn's debut LP where she will have the full-length album of her idiosyncratic cold guitar gypsywave sounds available for the first time!
Pieter, M Canterel and The Speculator Spin a Miserably Minimal Mess!
