WIERD Presents a Very Rare Evening with AUTOMELODI!

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

This week WIERD is inordinately excited to welcome back our beloved international playboys of the froide electronique north as AUTOMELODI return to the weekly party from minimal synth Montreal for a live performance at midnight! Monsieur Paradis and co. are hard at work on their debut LP due out on WIERD early next year and tell me we can expect a few never before heard new trax tonight along with the now basicly classic WIERD analogue anthems off of the 'Fait Ses Courses' EP we've been spinning to loving death this entire year since it came out back in April!

I am very happy to finally announce the long-awaited masterpiece of a debut LP from LED ER EST has now gone to press! The album will be entitled 'Dust on Common' and the release party will be held on November 18th at the weekly party! We will have both this monster of a record as well as Xeno & Oaklander's debut LP/CD 'Sentinelle' up on the website for ordering info, soundclips etc. in the next week or so so stay VRuned. Pix from last weeks mindmelter of a show at the weekly party are up on the WIERD Archives now courtesy of Ms. Cassidy:

Automelodi will be joining Led Er Est, Martial Canterel, and Light Asylum on a second excellent bill this Friday evening as WIERD is teaming up with WBAR Radio Barnard/Columbia University for a night of minimal electronic music uptown at Columbia's Underground Lounge. Flier and additional info are up on the flier on the WIERD MySpace page along with a new set of killer trax just uploaded to the player by the likes of new WIERD-VRelated groups including Void Vision, Futility, and Further Reductions, all made in the last 3 months that we've been spinning the past few weeks at the party.

The debut single from Xeno & Oaklander's debut LP/CD 'Saracen' b/w 'The Shot, The Fall' will be released via ITunes and all other media outlets on October 15th, and Other Music has a special pre-release FREE digital download now available! Both trax can be listened to in their entirety now on the band's page, link to free download is here:

I mentioned this project a couple weeks ago and WIERD will be entertaining the afterparty for Brian Parson's debut feature film 'In Search of Sound' on the tail end of this years CMJ Fest in the city! The premier screening for this epic project will be Saturday afternoon 10/24 at 1 pm at Anthology Film Archives. The afterparty featuring live performances by Xeno & Oaklander, Led Er Est, and your Very Rarely spinning is now confirmed for the following evening at Fontanas in the East Village begining at 10pm! More info up on the ISOS Site and Facebook page with film clips, the official trailer etc.:

Also a heads up to everyone out west that the CULT OF YOUTH/DEATH DOMAIN tour starts this Friday in Detroit! The week's worth of midwest dates are the following, and more info is up at CoY central:

WIERD is proud to announce that on December 2nd the weekly party will play host to the US record release Party for Mannequin Records, Rome's soon to come fantastic historical compilation of classic Italian Cold Wave which will be entitled 'Danza Meccanica'! This release truly has the best of the best trax ever in this rich secret soon-to-be-discovered VReckin Roman tradition, and for this special occasion the Italian Cold Wave King himself Alessandro Aliari from Mannequin will be flying over to spin the compilation in its entirety at the weekly party! Alessandro also tells me the new split 7" from his band Newclear Waves and Opus Finis is now available as well, please visit the website and support one of our most devoted allies overseas for info on both these releases:

Lastly, it was with sincere regret that as an icy tear slowly crawled down my tired old head last week we all witnessed the final death of WIERD's most devoted regular and party fan, groupie and employee for nearly 10 years...our truly lovely and elegant elderly queen of the frozen WIERD night our incredibly restrained yet powerful and charismatic fog machine The Old Lady Misty. Misty has been a vital part of the WIERD world and the many many party incarnations previous before it dating all the way back to her Very Rare conception in 1997, we remember her fondly...and will miss her terribly. All condolences can be sent to info@Wierdecords.com Blessed Be..the true Queen Misty...Very Rare Forever...
