WIERD Presents a Very Rare Evening with VOID VISION!

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

I know many of you our beloved WIERD irVRegulars at the weekly party have been eagerly awaiting this week's performance for quite some time by one of the newest minimal electronic groups who've brought a huge breath of frozen cold excitement to the WIERD World, as we welcome the live party debut of VOID VISION from Philadelphia for a live performance at midnite! The speed at which the amazing Mr. Payne and the lovely Ms. Red V. have been carefully crafting consistently killer track after track we've been spinning the past couple months has been beyond impressive to say the least, so tomorrow night I hope everyone can make it out to see how infectious analogue gems like 'In 20 Years', and 'Not Much of Anything' manifest full-on alive...Not to be missed!

A few notes of particular importance this week, firstly I wanted to remind everyone that this coming Saturday afternoon Brian Parson's new feature film 'In Search of Sound' about the current state of underground electronic music the worldover will premier at The Anthology Film Archives in the city at 1pm! Seating is limited for this special engagement so I suggest arriving by 12:15-12:30 to get tickets. Brian has the official trailer and a couple other clips up with some glimpses of the Wierd-related interviews and live video footage on the Facebook page and ISOS website:

Following the premier on Sunday evening WIERD will play host to the official ISOS afterparty at Fontana's in the East Village featuring live performances by Xeno & Oaklander and Led Er Est with Glenn from Blacklist and yours Very Rarely spinning the icy hot night away! Doors will be at 10 for this one, Led Er Est is on at 11pm:

Xeno & Oaklander's debut single 'Saracen' off their forthcoming debut LP 'Sentinelle' was #1 on the Other Music Digital charts last week so we have decided to keep it live and available for free download for one more week so everyone can have a listen! So please pay our ever-supportive old VRiends over at OM a visit and get it while its still cold as ever:

Speaking of which, and in lieu of the amazing pleasures that next week's official NYC release party for 'Sentinelle' will certainly bring as we will be playing the album in its entirety for the first time ever, the elusive Ms. Xeno is being quite secretive about what other VRentertainment is in store for us on this momentous occasion! Next Wed. there will be no cover so I hope everyone can make it out to help us all celebrate the completion of this absolute masterpiece of crafted electronic pleasure that has been over a year in the making..We have uploaded the first set of trax onto the player over at X&O centraal:
