WIERD Presents a Live Performance by Silk Flowers!
Wednesday, February 11, 2009
Thank you to everyone who braved the cold inside last week, seems safe to say Epee du Bois' finale VRuet with M Canterel which is rumoured to be entitled 'Bunker' is one we'll all never forget...perhaps never before has the precariously balanced, vertically excessive 'stacked' formal arrangement of synthesizers and sequencers come to so literally embodied the inherent 'Refuge Underneath' which a singular song's title undeniably provides...the concrete poets would be most certainly be proud of M Epee's 'de rigeur'....
This week we welcome another in the new generation of Brooklyn Minimal Electronic bands Silk Flowers for a Very Rare performance at Midnite! Ethan and Co provided an excellent display of rigourous analogue midtempo dexterity earlier this year at Todd Pendu's fantastic Art and Ear Festival with pantomime accoutrements and Greenpointillian folliage aflare, so bring yr frigid little stem-n-bud encasements oft referred to so sadly as 'bodies' down to the WIERD this week, and embrace the purgatorially-confused enigma of an average artificial flower's life...VR
Also in line with this exciting new wave of minimal synth in BKNY, I wanted to encourage everyone to come out to this killer evening of analogue electronics Thursday night Feb 12th at Glasslands(Kent Ave at South 1st St) in Williamsburg as FINGERED Presents: SSPS, Terrible Eagle, Further Reductions, Nathan Antolik, and Smoke Weed, should be a lovely wet over-synth-saturated mess!
