Wednesday, April 22, 2009

The WIERD would sincerely like to thank everyone who came out and helped to make the 4 WIERD French Invasion performances the past 2 weeks such a fantastic time! - Kris and Aime from Antwerp, Marc Samhain from Cologne, Michael and Andrew from The Annex, Naomi, Stephen, and Miss Liz and Mr. Canterel for your help with video, photos, and sound recording of the shows. Needless to say we have a whole new band of Allies to the Quebequois and Continental European North, and should soon have a few great new live performance videos and photos up soon...Also for everyone who wasn't able to get a tape following the Frank(just Frank) show last wednesday, Kirti and Chris wanted me you let you all know they are working on an 11 track debut CDr Compilation containing all of all the trax on the 3 currently available cassettes which we'll have available on the website in a few weeks. Naomi's photos from the two 'WIERD Presents' shows are up now on the Flickr page:

A few more updates on live events - WIERD Presents at The Annex will be back on Thursday June 4th for a tornado of Gypsy Wave pleasure as we welcome back our lovely VRiend Tamaryn form San Francisco along with Religious to Damn! This will be a late show with doors at 11pm, performances begin at 11:30, more info to come on this one...Also I'm sorry to say next week's Solvent show has been postponed until September, don't worry I promise we'll get Jason back asap, needless to say our lovely uber-fierce Mounties at the Canadian border don't make it easy on the minimal synth masters touring the states these days...Instead next week WIERD will be host to our fave killer bitch ANAREXIA's Birthday celebration featuring Guest DJ Pre-Op Trans! Also yours Very Rarely will be bringing back your fave second annual 'Free Drinks if You Can Prove You're GAY' contest...Yeah...get the creative juices goin boys and girls as this crumbly old Cruton has really seen it all and isn't easily persuaded! Rumors have it her VRajesty A-Rex will also be curating the evenings live entertainment and bring a surprise live act or two of her own so stay tuned.:

This week WIERD proudly welcomes the weekly party debut of Revel Hotel for a live performance at midnight! Johnny Q. and Frankie T. have been shrouded away in minimal synthetic torchsinger obscurity carefully recording their debut LP in their Greenpoint studio for months now, so prepare for a big surprise as the boys unveil a whole new set of trax...Wish I could tell you more what to expect but needless to say fans of early 'Life on Mars' era Bowie, 'Stories of Johnny' era Mark Almond, Scott Walker and mid period Siouxsie or Nina Simone won't be dissapointed...Rumors have it Frankie's theremin solos are reaching Eddy Van Halen covering Throbbing Gristle frozen cold analogue electronic noodlemaster complexity!...VR:
