Wednesday, July 8, 2009
Its Very Rare when a WIERD week comes upon us all with such a truly worthy event of all the support the frozen cold world has in it to give, but this is indeed one of them as beginning Thursday our long-time friend and supporter the amazing Todd Pendu presents the New York Eye and Ear Festival II...truly a fantastic effort from the elusive Master P. as he presents, get this: 57 live bands, 4 venues, 12 DJs and a massive all day record fair entirely devoted to independent record labels solely from NYC and Brooklyn! - every label from Abandon Ship to Anarchy Moon to Tesco USA to Matador to the pleasures of the WIERD World will be in the house of Todd...Theres nothing like it in the world, so I hope everyone will come out to support this great event and all the bands so we can all keep this thing alive for years to come! Yr fave WIERD-VRelated groups Blacklist, Martial Canterel, Led er Est, N. Antolik, and Further Reductions will all be playing this one, more info on tickets, venues, and the performance schedule are here:

Last weeks Zola Jesus show was quite a wild WIERD evening for sure as the young wilde child Ms. Nika backed by Dr. Adam Domain rocked our icy windy Sweet Home, plenty of images and words are floating around out there in the infinitely visible nothing for your cubicularly afternoon post-pleasure:

Also today I'm proud to officially announce that one of our true heroes of the European minimal electronic empire, and one of the first individuals ever to bring M.Canterel, Xeno & Oaklander, Staccato du Mal and the rest of the WIERD circus over to the continent back in 2006 Michael Wehmeier aka DJ Plastikmann of the famous Neon Welt Party at the legendary Discothek Zwischenfall in Bochum, Germany will at long last be coming to Brooklyn for a WIERD DJ residency from September 26th through October 10th! So expect us to pull out all the stops during this time period kids, as we're certainly going to show the Neon master of the best minimal electronic party in all of Europe for 5+ years now the time of his life!...:)

Special thanks go out to Phillip for introducing us all to the mysterious world of äøûøÿÿ ßõтрþò, I think we'd all agree it is all of our far away dreams to meet the man and his many minions some day in the flesh...St. Petersburg and Siberia are calling...be patient we're coming:

OK enough talking without visceral phonix, this week WIERD proudly welcome the return of Brooklyn's coldest new minimal synth duo Further Reductions for a live performance at midnight! Day after day I crawl across the floor to prop myself up in front of the glowing black box of the post-VReverything abyss...and day after day theres a new masterful box of Ms. Katie shinily shimmering vox of Rose's wrapped up and held together by M. NoEQ's eminently idiosyncratic slither of glue...translated as: their new trax never before heard in the WIERD such as 'Gato Negro', 'Familiar Flights', and 'Interior' are fukin amazing, so scrape yr skinny asses up and come on down to the WIERD...in search of your Rose:
