WIERD Presents a Very Rare live performance by BETTINA KOSTER!
Wednesday, September 1st, 2010
So yesterday upon walking out of the WIERD's front door into the world, the rather sadly abject and always eminently empty vacant lot next to my house had an 'Eviction' notice on it...it was truly a perplexing site and I think radically contemporary as one might say... As if this wasn't already enough of a philosophical conundrum to confuse the WIERD for daze, a few hours later at the US Open I learned that a dozen or so major corporations are buying out entire lots of tickets for their employees, nearly all of whom are not showing up due to the intense heat, yet the seats are all sold, and remained 'reserved' - awkwardly sitting alone awaiting a body...so(like the doubly evacuated 'abstraction' of Real estate next to my house) the most highly attended event of public sport in the world is now also left with the cold VRleasures of the contemporary world - everything is sold out, but noone is there...Very Rare.

On that as always delerio-crypto-abymsmalian note of Apocryphial wonder, tonite the battle against abstraction via the pleasures of the flesh and electricity continue at the WIERD weekly party yesss! A few weeks ago we were beyond spolied by when the great British cold guitar master Mark Burgess blew the roof off the fukin place, and tonite we are undoubtedly in for another amazing evening as we welcome absolutely legendary BETTINA KOSTER for a live performance at midnite! Along with the likes of Matthias Schuster, Blixa Bargeld, and Gudrun Gut, since founding her incredible group MALARIA! Bettina has been one of the truly seminal figures in German Post-Punk and Experimental Electronic/Industrial music since the late 70s, and the opportunity to see her perform in such an intimate WIERD World is certainly a rarity. This evening Bettina will be performing a new series of songs from her recently released 'Queen of Noise' LP for your frozen hot pleasure...see you all in the WIERD tonite...VRp.
