WIERD Welcomes the Return of THE BACKSPACE PERFORMANCE ENSEMBLE Tonite!

So the WIERD wrote this eminently VRysterical, highly uncalled for little story in the neverending saga against the Abstraction of IT all to make all your afternoon's cubicular daze a bit more chillingly uncomfortable and I sat down and red it, but since it was a largely over-uneasy yellow it came out a rather drably unattractive ewrange my absolute least favorite cooleur in the world...in other words, likely because of the fact I was not talking, I still had no idea what the hell IT was talking 'about' and most certainly made no sense whatsoever, thank god at least one of us has no idea whats goin on here. Anyway, to make a long story short, I made the long story short and gave my old flamey flame the little bitchy left arrow key a quick and nasty spank, and Backed that thing up baby, 'click'...ITs all gone now my lovely WIERD VRiends. As that triumphantly virtual little smart ass turned a Rosey Rare pink from the pleasures of the heavy-handed erotic metaphor spanktastically embeddded in the ever-virulent (and appropriately named) 'BS' key in the upper right of the PC shebored, or whatever PC or not - sMAC! Ooh harder darling mmm hmm...and I realized the implicit irony was being born as...
Tonite WIERD welcomes the long-overdue return of The BACKSPACE PERFORMANCE ENSEMBLE presenting their new opus "Backspace Attack Now" with guest DJs Anarexia and Martial Canterel! For those of you unfamiliar Backspace is an 8 member modern dance company originally hailing from the performing arts mecca of Oberlin College in Ohio. Since their arrival to Brooklyn less than 2 years ago, Krystal Something-Something, Charmin Ultra, Mary Joe Cameltoe and the rest of the tornado of heat-seeking freeksters have been kickin ass in venues all over the US including the debut of one of the most complex theatrical performances the Wierd has ever hosted entitled "Here Come the Girls!" back in April. Their slowly becoming legendary weekly party every sunday at the Sugarland Nightclub in the BK is goin stronger than ever as is the neverending flow of taboo pleasures that is Backspace TV, and the shows and words of praise have been growing, including a recent feature in Rolling Stone Mag and a wildly spectacular sold out theatre show in the city this past sat. night. Its hard to know where to even start in describing the BPE worldview, though a comment I overheard at their last show perhaps came pretty close: "...man that was some crazy shit - like if the producers of Rowan and Martin's Laugh In hired Peter Sotos and Dennis Cooper to pen a tranny re-makeover of Fame circa 1994..." Needless to say there's nothing like it, I hope everyone can make it out to the WIERD Tonite!
