WIERD Presents a very rare performance by THE SOFT MOON!

Wednesday, January 26th, 2011

Tonite WIERD is proud to welcome the NYC debut of our favorite new band from San Francisco The Soft Moon for a live performance at midnight! We've been eagerly awaiting Luis, Justin and co.'s arrival since they opened for Xeno & Oaklander in SF back in March. I highly recommend their self-titled debut LP out now on Captured Trax which we've been spinning to frozen hot death for the past couple months, its a kickass record and one of the darkest cold guitar wave albums in recent memory. My fave track on the LP 'Circles' is closer to the mastery of French Cold Wave legends End of Data's Sahrah or Complot Bronswick's Dark Room's Delights LPs than anythng in recent memory. Check out the video below directed by Ron Robinson. The evening will be extra special as we welcome back the San Fran all-star DJ team of our beloved Goutroy and our long-time VRiend Justin Anastasi whos joined SM's live line-up. For anyone looking for endless hours of jawdropping, chill-inducing entertainment, visit Goutroy's A Viable Commercial Blog also below as the Very Rarities rain down for daze...
