The release date for the long-awaited debut album from VAURA is now set for Feb. 28th! You can download two trax from the record "Vanth" and "Obsidian Damascene Sun" below, and a trailer for the kaleidoscopic eclipse of blackened psychedelic energy that is the gatefold 2xLP and CD are available courtesy of Romanian video artist Costin Chioreanu. Nearly a year in the making, this wildly epic 56 minute journey was recorded and mixed by the great Colin Marston of Krallice at Menegroth:The Thousand Caves in Woodhaven, NY and effortlessly traverses all heretofore established boundaries between coldwave, black metal, industrial/noise, and darkly progressive post-rock. The 2xLP is available in an edition of 500 copies with 200 on bloody transluscent pink and opaque blue burst vinyl housed in a classic Stoughton 2 pocket gatefold jacket. The band has a series of live dates on the way beginning with supporting Junius @ The Knitting Factory on Feb. 12th, the official Selenelion Record Release Party @ WIERD on March 14th, and an ultra-heavy bill with Deafheaven and French Blackwave greats Alcest @ Public Assembly on March 31st.:

After a series of triumphantly bleak and filthy-fresh EPs and singles the first full-length by the gutter-trolling masters of heat-seeking skuzzrock has been a long time coming, and I assure you its covered in enough scabby hooks and methtastic tweakarama intensity sure to make this evening a crazy one, so get there early if you wanna catch a naughty peep through the sticky shades as the shady ladysniffin pleasurefest unfolds!
