WIERD Presents the Vaura 'Selenelion' Record Release Party Tonite!
Wednesday, March 14th, 2012
Tonight is a big one in VR Central as WIERD presents the Vaura Selenelion record release party with a live performance by the band at midnight! This epic 2xLP/56 minute journey through a kaleidoscopic eclipse of blackened psychedelic darkness was recorded and mixed by the great Colin Marston of Krallice at Menegroth: The Thousand Caves and effortlessly traverses all heretofore established boundaries between coldwave, black metal, industrial/noise, and progressively charged post-rock. All I can say is I'm truly proud to have been able to be a part of this wild record that has been nearly a year in the making, and it's a Very Rare feeling to finish something of this magnitude and unleash it into the world at last. I hope everyone can come on down to the WIERD this evening and help us celebrate!
Check out a stream of the entire album including an interview with Josh and Kevin, the debut video for "Vanth", a curated playlist that'll give you a VRidea of the influences that caused the Damascene sun to die in the sky, and grab a few trax below. The band plays Death by Audio on the 18th, and then hits the road for a string of dates with French Blackwave greats Alcest that kicks off with an ultra-heavy line-up at Public Assembly on March 31st.
