DJ GILLES RETURNS TO SOUTHSIDE LOUNGE @ WIERD

Tuesday, May 24th, 2005

This is a very special week at club WIERD.  Long before 'New York Electro' and 'New New York Rock', DJ Gilles Le Guen's legendary parties in Chinatown, the Lower East Side, and Williamsburg, Brooklyn introduced a whole new sound to New York City nightlife soon following his arrival in the city in early 1998.

This week WIERD welcome's back and would like to say thankyou to the man who is not only singlehandedly responsible for bringing European Coldwave to New York, but who more importantly has brought us all thousands of hours of amazing hedonistic pleasure over the course of the past 7 years through his absolutely uncompromised dedication to the 'very rare' music we all love.  We also bid farewell and wish the best of luck to Gilles as he returns to France to embark on his first full-scale European tour in support of the likes of Tuxedomoon, Minimal Compact, Gang of Four and many others in his slowly growing legion of cult followers.

Thankyou Gilles, all the fun we've had at WIERD would never have been possible without your inspiration...(now I'm gonna go cry in my pillow and listen to Complot Bronswick... :( ) P.
